Subversive jewelry

Justin Giunta is the founder and designer of subversive jewelry. Subversive jewelry has brought in a new era of jewelry designing using vintage material and each item being handcrafted.

Justin Giunta also being an artist does not follow the organized and systematic arrangement of the jewelry materials, he uses his artistic skills and unorthodox approach to jewelry to come up with unique designs.

He started to sell his collection to small boutiques in New York until it gained such quick sales that subversive jewelry was found in international department stores that was remodeling the fashion world of jewelry.

Subversive jewelry has variety of designs in necklaces, earrings and bracelets. The jewelry is made using vintage material like antique vintage chains, antique vintage pearls, hexagons, beads (lava, jet&glass), charms, Swarovski crystals and spokes, smoke wood and brass.

The famous collections of subversive jewelry include Sunken Treasure necklaces, Rain forest I and II, Calders circus necklace and earrings, Topography and Soft Science. The unique names of his collections reflect upon his efforts towards using only eco friendly recycled material for his jewelry.

Sandra Bullock, Tyra Banks and Alicia keys have been some celebrities that have been among the loyalists of subversive jewelry. Designers like DKNY, Alexander Wang and J.Mendel have used subversive jewelry in their fashion shows.

Justin Giunta received a CFDA award for accessories in 2009 after being frequently nominated in the previous years for his subversive jewelry.
