In order to improve its visibility in Middle East and other parts of the world, Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) decided to come up with new suite services which would start in January, coming year.
Youri Steverlynck, the CEO of DDE, said in an interview with Myjewelpack that DDE would hold monthly Polished Sales, like the Mini Hong kong Jewelry show and also provide brokerage services from its new offices in Almas tower, Dubai.
On an anonymous basis, DDE would provide Diamond Solitaires which would be 49 point or larger, Fancy colored diamonds, Diamond Jewelry and Diamond parcels in the Polished Sales week.
Although in this, there will be direct cash to good offer, the CEO said this would help the suppliers in providing products on my lesser price. Credit system would also be available. This cash for good offer would make this platform more competitive for other diamond companies.
This concept if worked would prove that there are better alternatives than credit system. This polished sales week would see mostly Jewelry companies and retailers from Russia and neighboring countries, the gulf region such as Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE in addition to Turkey and Egypt.
New offices of DDE were officially announced by the Dubai Multi Commodities Center, popularly known as DMCC. Apart from the regular trading rooms, these offices would see diamond inspection instruments, digital market information and services including shipping, automated vaulting facilities, customs inspections and diamond boiling
The well known Almas Tower itself is a center of shopping for all the Jewelry needs. This tower is actually a part of massive 79 floor building called the Jumeirah Lakes Towers Development in Dubai.
